Si Stebbin's Stack The Si Stebbin's Stack is a stack that (Using a formula) allows you to calculate the position of any card in the deck. First off, the stack. From top down, the stack is: AC Notice a pattern? The next card down is always 3 higher in value and one higher in suit (CHaSeD order). For those who don't know, the CHaSeD order is: Clubs The formula for determining any named card is: Glimpse the bottom four cards and remember the lowest card in the deck with the same suit as the card. If the thought-of card (TO) is of lower value than the matching suit card (MS), then: 1. Subtract the value of TO from MS. 2. Multiply this number by 4. 3. From this, subtract the number of cards in the deck below MS. If the thought-of card (TO) is of higher value than the matching suit card (MS), then: 1. Subtract TO from 13. 2. Add this number to the value of MS. 3. Multiply by 4. 4. From this, subtract the number of cards in the deck below MS.
The deck can be freely cut (Singly, no multiple cuts). Let's assume that the deck hasn't been cut. We will use the four of spades as our example card. The lowest card in the deck with a matching suit is the 8 of spades. 8 - 4 = 4. 4 * 4 = 16. There is one card below the 8 of spades, so: 16 - 1 = 15. Therefore, the 4 of spades is the 15th card from the top of the deck. It seems complicated, but once you practice, you can tell how far down any card is in a few seconds.
